Then vs. Now - 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang vs. 2007 Shelby GT500 Mustang

Now for the 3rd installment of the "Then vs. Now" 1/4 mile match up series. The iconic 1967 Shelby GT500 Ford Mustang vs. the 2007 Shelby GT500 Mustang.

Let's see what's under the hood:
1967 GT500 = Shelby tuned 428 "Police Interceptor" V8 producing 355 HP and 420 lbs/ft of torque.

2007 GT500 = Shelby tuned 5.4 Liter supercharged V8 producing 500 HP and 480 lbs/ft of torque.

Sadly, there is not much "build up" to this test, the specs pretty much speak for themselves giving a good idea as to the results of a 1/4 mile comparison.

1967 Shelby GT 500 = 14.6 sec

2007 Shelby GT500 = 12.7 sec

That was quite a blow out, but, after seeing the horsepower and torque figures, I wouldn't expect anything else.

Keep checking back for more "Then vs. Now" 1/4 mile match ups.
