I'm sure even the most educated Bimmer aficionados thought this car was a myth. Like a Bavarian Unicorn, the BMW M5 Convertible does in fact exist. Built 20 years ago, this E34 BMW M5 Cabriolet was a one-off build by BMW that never saw the light of day, until now.In fact, the E34 M5 Convertible almost made it to production. The car was planned to debut at that year's Geneva Motor Show, however sales concerns and worries of encroaching on the 3-Series' success led BMW to cancel the project just one week before the unveil.
Finally, BMW has confirmed the car's existence to a select few auto journalists at an event commemorating 25 years of the M5.
