Next Generation R36 Nissan GT-R Planned for 2013
Big news concerning the future of the Nissan GT-R. Following a trip to Nissan's Nurburgring technical center, the folks at Piston Heads got an idea of what to expect from the next generation Godzilla. While meeting with the Nissan GT-R "away team" test crew at the 'Ring, Nissan's VP of global product planning, Andy Palmer assured the crowd that the GT-R program would continue despite tough economic times.
Later when the Piston Head's got a chance to speak to Palmer one-on-one, he noted that Nissan plans on keeping the likes of the Porsche GT2 square in their cross-hairs. According to Palmer, the next generation R36 GT-R will be an evolution of the current R35 and will build upon the current twin-turbo V6 configuration.
Palmer noted to Piston Heads; "In that respect, it’s not going to be a massive one-off investment,” Palmer told PH. “It’s more a case of putting a bit of money into the programme every year, to make sure we keep the GT-R where it needs to be.”

I cant even begin to imagine what the R36 is going to be like. It doesn't seem that long ago that the R35 was launched. This is proving to be quite popular with us at South West Motorsport, the most popular request being engine enhancements. Im going to be keeping an eye out for news on the R36 as i feel it could be very intersting.
